KEEP UP (NIGHT) by Mark Oliver

Pickles Print Club kicks off with not one, but two prints. Mark Oliver's superb cover artwork for our latest issue, KEEP UP (DAY) and KEEP UP (NIGHT). Everyone knows what a keepy-uppy is, the knack of juggling the ball is universal, football 101. Mark’s piece, KEEP UP, is an encouraging cheer and a swaggering celebration of competitive spirit:

“I looked at the possibility of jumbling up the spheres, heads for footballs, footballs for astral bodies... So the themes of the illustration ended up including time, space, endurance, perseverance, and the empty-headed flow-state when you are playing at your best.”

Mark has been a freelance illustrator since 2015. Most of his work has been for magazines like Esquire, WIRED and many others. Mark also teaches and designs through a collaborative illustration practice called Pencil & Help. Producing books, murals, games and all kinds of illustrated visual content through a creative process with people of all ages and backgrounds. Working regularly with universities, schools and galleries like House of Illustration, V&A, Museum of London and Somerset House.
